BE HEALTHY: Simple Tips to Keep Your Family Healthy & Support Wellness

November 1, 2022

As November gets underway, we want to share some health tips with you as the temperatures begin to cool down and we approach the winter season in only a few short weeks. Check out the flier included below, and keep these tips in mind to keep you and your family healthy and promote overall wellness during the late fall and winter months!

Avoid Close Contact: Avoid close contact with sick people, and when you're sick, maintain a safe distance between yourself and others.

Cover Your Mouth & Nose: Cough or sneeze into a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Nose, or Mouth: To help prevent infections, keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Stay Home When You're Sick: If you feel unwell, stay home to prevent the spread of germs and protect yourself and others. Stay home until you remain better and symptoms ease.

Clean Your Hands: Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. If soap and water aren't readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Regularly Clean High-Traffic Areas: Routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces with appropriate cleaning products.

Practice Other Good Health Habits: Staying healthy goes beyond these tips and includes simple habits you can incorporate into your daily life, such as:

  • Get 7-9 hours of sleep daily
  • Be physically active (As little as 30 minutes of exercise, such as a brisk walk, can be helpful!)
  • Manage your stress
  • Drink plenty of water and fluids (Consider choosing water over sugary drinks or carrying a refillable water bottle with you through the day!)
  • Eat nutritious foods (Find ways to incorporate fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet, and eat other less healthy, processed foods in moderation)

With these tips, we can keep our community safe and healthy! Save this information on your smartphone or print it off and keep it in a central place in your home!

We wish everyone a happy November!
