The spirit of giving back to the community finds a home regularly at J.E.J. Moore Middle School through acts of kindness by students and staff, and that tradition continued on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, as the school's Junior BETA Club made a generous donation to the Prince George County Animal Shelter.

Earlier this month, the school hosted its Harvest Moon dance, raising $1,500 that would be donated to a local community organization. The Junior BETA Club would select the Prince George County Animal Shelter as the recipient of the funds.
Members of the shelter arrived Wednesday with a furry friend to accept the donation, with the puppy stealing the show during the check presentation outside of the school.
In late October, J.E.J. Moore Middle School's Junior BETA Club took part in a two-day leadership summit in Williamsburg at Great Wolf Lodge, where they were able to display their collaboration skills and creativity, while being inspired to continue to be leaders in their community.
